Ride Thoroughbred To Preakness

As many of you know, Preakness 2020 has been rescheduled to October 2020. There is no way we could not discuss the Maryland horse race of the year with a business name of “Thoroughbred Transportation.”

That’s said, here are a few fun facts about this iconic race: (1) the favorite wins the Preakness more than 50% of the time (2) the first purse was $2,050 and in recent years it has increased to $1.5 million (3) The race has been referred to as “The Run for the Black-Eyed Susans" because the winner is draped in a blanket of Viking Poms or daisies with centers that are painted black. Both flowers are used to look like Maryland’s state flower, the Black-eyed Susans, which do not bloom until after the race. (4) the record crowd attendance was 140,000 people.

Although there are many more fun facts about this special event, the facts don’t do it justice! This is an event that is best experienced in person! With that in mind, plan ahead and #RideThoroughbred. Contact us today.
